New border crossing regulations since jan 2025

so far it seems it may still be possible to cross with padron and declaracion jurada using part 17.2.3 of the chilean customs law

the new law basically says that a turist non resident even if he has the padron cannot cross, however he can cross with a notary poder from the owner , therefor a way around this law can be to give your partner (not the one owning the car) a poder and have him drive the car through the border. otherwise just try to cross as the owner by showing your padron and declaracion jurada + customs law we linked above.

Border crossings
AWA- the borders specified that are good for crossing " also with authorization " from the owner, before you get the padron.
Please take in account that a foreigner cannot cross from Chile directly to Peru or bolivia with a Chilean vehicle (that's the protocol, but some people do make it), The solution is crossing to Argentina first and continuing from there.
